What is Solution Evaluation & Selection?

The search, evaluation and selection of technology solutions can be the most daunting, time-consuming and critical phase within a project.

Pan Eight's Solution Evaluation & Selection service is designed to allow you to leverage our vast experience and expertise within recruitment and hr, in order to make the right selection and maximise return on investment.

The service will deliver a shortlist and recommendations of vendors and solutions, that have been rigorously vetted, and evaluated to justify selection. This will allow you to formulate a path towards the delivery and execution of a successful project.

How is it done?

We utilise our own proprietary five-phased methodology to perform the Solution Evaluation & Selection. The process includes:

Phase I – Definition

• Understand business strategy, objectives and plans.
• Define business requirements
• Confirm and agree upon the business requirements.

Phase II - Identification

• Confirm the IT strategy and identify any constraints in respect of the choice of solution.
• Identify a list of vendors/solutions that have the potential to meet the defined requirements.
• Produce invitation to tender / request for information and deliver to identified vendors together with defined requirements.

Phase III - Evaluation

• Agree on the detailed evaluation method.
• Perform a preliminary evaluation on the responses from the vendors.
• Phase IV – Due Diligence
• Conduct detailed assessment on approx three software suppliers to assess areas such as solution functionality, flexibility, quality, support, and vendor financial viability.
• Obtain several references for each short-listed vendor to gain an objective profile of their credibility, their software and services.

Phase V - Selection

• Conduct a pilot study if required.
• Document selection process and justification.
• Review the vendor’s contracts from the commercial aspects only. Your legal review would still be required.
• Assist in negotiating the price, service levels, and terms of the contract.
